Archduchess Valerie of Austria (German: Valerie Isabelle Marie Anna Alfonsa Desideria Brigitte Sophia Thomasia Huberta Josepha Ignatia, Erzherzogin von Österreich, Prinzessin von Toskana[1][2]) (born 23 May 1941 in Vienna, Austria[1][2]) is a member of the Tuscan line of the House of Habsburg-Lorraine and an Archduchess and Princess of Austria and a Princess of Hungary, Bohemia, and Tuscany by birth.[1][2] Through her marriage to Maximilian, Margrave of Baden, Valerie is a member of the House of Zähringen and Margravine consort of Baden.

Family

Valerie was the ninth child and seventh daughter[1][2] of Archduke Hubert Salvator of Austria and his wife Princess Rosemary of Salm-Salm.[1][2]

Marriage and issue

Valerie married Maximilian, Margrave of Baden, second child and eldest son of Berthold, Margrave of Baden and his wife Princess Theodora of Greece and Denmark, on 23 September 1966 civilly in Salem, Baden-Württemberg, Germany and religiously on 30 September 1966 at Schloss Persenbeug in Persenbeug-Gottsdorf, Lower Austria, Austria.[1][2] Valerie and Maximilian have four children together:[1][2]
